Takanobu Omata, Ph.D. was a visiting researcher at the UCLA Reasoning Lab working with Prof. Keith Holyoak. His research interests focus on higher cognitive functions such as analogical reasoning, creativity, and design. He is particularly interested in the practical applications of cognitive science to real-world problems. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2013. He is currently a cognitive scientist and a designer at Sony Corporation. He received the iF Design Award in 2017.
