Emily received her B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior from UC Irvine in 2018, and began her PhD in Cognitive Psychology at UCLA following that. She is also pursuing a MS in Statistics. 

Emily joined the UCLA reasoning lab in the fall of 2018 to study the cognitive principles that underlie political reasoning, namely analogical and causal reasoning. Since joining the lab, she conducted studies on climate change beliefs and motivated reasoning in politics. She is interested in leveraging both computational and behavioral methods to study these issues.
